The Hitmen used the power play to their advantage as they scored four times with the extra man. The penalty killing continues to be sensational as they killed off all seven Freeze power plays. Danny Porth made 18 saves for the win.
Sunday proved to be more of the same. The Hitmen dominated the entire contest, eventually winning 8-1. Halfway through the first, Evan Hoey found the back of the net for the Hitmen. Only four minutes later Buckley gave the boys in blue a 2-0 lead. In the second, the Hitmen would break the game open, scoring three times (Bret Shaffer, Keith Bishop and Hoey) in a 90 second span to give them a 5-0 lead.
Cangelosi made it 6-1 before the second period would end. In the third, Bishop added his second of the game and Daniel Jayson scored on a beautiful snap shot to finish the scoring. The Hitmen would roll the rest of the way and win 8-1. Alec Vitton would make ten saves for the win.
The Hitmen continue to finish games strong, and have outscored teams 16-3 in the third period this season. The boys in blue are scoring 6.5 goals a game and yielding only 2.2 per contest. This weekend will prove to be a big test as they host the Jr. Bruins for two at the Ice Vault.
